I want to build this game around the feeling of meaningful progression. This brings in the town idea, where the player will spend gold within buildings to upgrade their weapons, and unlock new combat tactics along the way.
The combat system uses hitboxes, appearing at certain times within the animation. I have the system set up to modify recovery time, the speed of the attack, and various other variables, allowing for new weapons to be easily added.

All programming was done by me within the game engine Construct 3.
All art was done by Wolfenrahd, who created some base art to help get a feel for the game during development.
While the game is undergoing development, there is currently no audio.
EXTRA INSIGHT
Forager was the main inspiration for this game, wanting to keep the feel of progression, but within a new genre such as a fighting game.
The development is being documented on YouTube, helping to build a core audience for the game along the way, as well as get feedback as development is underway.
